ABOUT WHLA

West Houston Lacrosse Association (WHLA) is dedicated to promoting youth lacrosse and fostering personal and athletic growth in young players. Our mission is to provide opportunities for youth development, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, self-esteem, and the development of life skills. We strive to create a safe and positive environment where children in our community can learn the fundamentals of lacrosse.

At WHLA, we believe that every student who wants to play lacrosse should have the chance to do so. Our goal is to include middle school teams for all age groups, ensuring that more young athletes have the opportunity to experience the benefits of lacrosse.

As we continue to grow, WHLA is committed to becoming a community-based lacrosse league. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that lacrosse is accessible to all and that our players have the chance to thrive both on and off the field.

Join us at West Houston Lacrosse Association and be a part of our mission to promote youth lacrosse, encourage youth development, and create a strong lacrosse community in the West Houston area.

Coaching Staff

BRANDON SPARKS MOFFETT | Head Coach

Hi, I’m Coach Brandon Sparks-Moffett, Head Coach here at Westside. I played lacrosse and ran track at Hardin-Simmons University, and sports have always been a huge part of who I am. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to train and develop athletes across multiple sports, focusing not just on physical performance, but on building confidence, leadership, and discipline. My goal is to create a culture where players push themselves, support one another, and grow both as athletes and as people. I’m dedicated to helping this program reach its full potential and showing our athletes what it means to compete with pride and purpose.
